Best to go in the morning when produce is best and slightly quieter than early evenings apparently. .

As in all markets there are pick pockets operating according to the commentary on the canal boat ride that we took. Whilst you are there try some of the halvah there. I only knew that they had sesame ones but here there are many other types.
This is also a good place to have a snack/lunch as it’s cheaper than the old town area.

It's a large... read more area over multiple sheds, each have a great range of things being sold, catering for mainly locals you get great prices and variety, I had lunch here most days and the choices were very good.

Note that it's not just inside but outside stalls, also great for daily fruit and veggies!!

It has the greatest amount of salted foods I have ever seen. The fish market for me was the highlight.

  Riga Market trip  - Really interesting market, we went in March and it was quiet, which was good. Different halls had different produce. The outside market is good as well.
