  Massive markets are a must see in Riga  - The food markets located in the old Zeppelin hangers are a must see when visiting Riga. There are fruit stands on the outside and five hangers full of stalls... read more inside. We bought some berries and pastries for breakfast, but were unable to get any of the smoked meat, fish or sausages except for deli meat for sandwiches for our bus trip. I liked to just amble around and look at all the food items common in Riga that we don’t have access to in the U.S.

  Fantastic market  - The central market in Riga is well worth visiting as it is huge and full of great food, there is a kebab stall in the foodhall which in particular is... read more awesome! Situated just outside the old town it is easy to get to.

  Massive food market  - This massive food market complex is worth to visit. They sell local products from fish to cheese, fruits and vegetables. Close by they also sell other items for example clothes... read more and since we visited during the Christmas season they had also a lot of seasonal products. There is a quite big food court with several diverse small restaurants/bars but we didn´t eat there as it was not our time for a meal and we wanted to continue exploring the city.

  Local market  - Typical big local market, it was close to our hotel so we spent a couple of hours there. Good selection of local produce but nothing amazing

  Riga Central Market - Interesting Central Market right by the bus and railways stations in old world war 2 hangars. Each hangar has a speciality (fish, meat etc) whilst the market continues outside of... read more the hangars as well. Well worth a visit.

It has the greatest amount of salted foods I have ever seen. The fish market for me was the highlight.

  Nice food and beers - We visited here twice, to shop and have lunch. The Souvenir kiosks and quite small, some are packed, so quite difficult to see everything. The prices are... read more the same as the shops in the Old Town. We had a bread filled pie the first day, then Local soups the second time. We had beer from the Tap stall. Local beers are really cheap, so we did what the local people do, as hot drinks are more expensive.

  Central Market at Christmas  - Great place we usually visit at Christmas time. Wide choice of everything you need at your table during holidays. Including presents.
